So what is your WHY? WHY on earth do you want to be an entrepreneur?

“You can only become truly accomplished at something you love. Don’t make money your goal. Instead pursue the things you love doing, and then do them so well that people can’t take their eyes off of you.” -- Maya Angelou

When we start out as entrepreneurs and business owners, it's usually because we have an idea or a product that we feel like we will absolutely burst if we don't get it out there. Or sometimes we just want the freedom to chart our own path or teach others what we know. And some, some think they want to be an entrepreneur because of the dollar, dollar bills. But Maya Angelou and so many brilliant people before us got it right, money cannot be your goal.

For me, real estate ignites my soul and invigorates my daily life. I have created multiple layers of business that work with each other. I have a passion for all things real estate and it shows. The great thing about passion is that it's infectious. If your audience knows that you love what you do, not only will they be more confident that you’ve made the best possible product, they’ll want to support your enthusiasm by giving you their business. WARNING -- this likely won't happen over night. In fact, for me, it has taken about a decade of carefully plotting the different steps in my real state businesses to now be considered an authority - to be able to choose and chart my path.

But when you build up steam, when your enthusiasm is truly palpable, people want a ticket on your happy train. The key to harnessing that passion is understanding your “why.”

So what is it that drives you? The reason probably isn’t money -- at least it shouldn’t be. If we were to ask you, "If money were no object, what would you do?"

What brings you passion and joy?  There are many reasons why people become entrepreneurs: personal happiness, independence, financial autonomy. At their core, they are all about freedom. I challenge you to look at your passions. What are you good at? What are you called to do? Brainstorm how these may be great business ideas. Can you monetize them or is it a hobby? This becomes the first step in your journey as an entrpeneuer. We refer to this part as our Purpose. It will become the foundation of your business. Without a purpose, you are just working a job, a 9-5, trading time for money. Be intentional when seeking your Purpose and then we work on the profits!

So, I leave you with the words of Nelson Mandela "There is no passion to be found playing small -- in settling for a life that is less than the one you are capable of living."

Let's dream big friends,
